La Mort ~ chant militaire écrit dans les années 1970 sur l’air de Der Tod reit’t auf einem kohlshwarzen Rappen (la mort chevauche un destrier noir), traduit du chant néerlandais, Vlaamse dodendans (danse funèbre flamande), écrit par L. Van de Lende en 1916 évoquant les combats sanglants dans les Flandres en novembre 1914. La mélodie elle même a été empruntée à une danse rhénane du XVe siècle.
~ Je demeure et fais front fait partie de la devise de Nicolas de Catinat, général de Louis XIV. La devise originelle est : « Là où le Roi m’a placé, je demeure et fais front ».

Cet étendard, contrairement aux dernières créations, est d’inspiration martiale et plus brutale.

Les franges métalliques sont une passementerie ancienne de fabrication française et sont utilisées pour les ornements liturgiques ou militaires.
Ce modèle entièrement réalisé dans mon atelier, est en coton de haute qualité ; le crâne et le lettrage sont appliqués en lin ancien.
Le nom du sujet est indiqué sur l’étiquette d’authentification au dos, ainsi que les informations de création.

Death ~ a military chant written in the 1970s to the tune of Der Tod reit’t auf einem kohlschwarzen Rappen (“Death rides a coal-black steed”), itself translated from the Dutch song Vlaamse dodendans (Flemish death dance), written by L. Van de Lende in 1916, evoking the bloody fighting in Flanders in November 1914. The melody itself was borrowed from a 15th-century Rhenish dance.

~ I stand my ground is part of the motto of Nicolas de Catinat, a general under Louis XIV. The original motto is: “Where the King has placed me, I remain and stand my ground.”

Metallic fringes are a traditional French trim and are used for liturgical or military ornaments.
This model, entirely made in my workshop, is crafted in high-quality cotton; the skull and lettering are applied in antique linen.
